The coast of Alanya consists of wide beaches and they all have Blue Flag. Blue Flag is an international practice that determines and inspects the cleanliness of the sea water and beach standards.
Blue Flag is issued to the beaches that conform to these standards and it is valid for one year.
Every fortnight microbiological and physicochemical analyses of the water takes place. In Alanya the colour of the sea turns to turquoise from blue. In still weather it is possible to see the fish deep in the sea. It is common to have fish wandering around your feet.
Both The East and West coasts of Alanya are beaches. In the west, are Damlatas and Cleopatra beaches and in the east are Keykubat and Portakal beaches.
Out of the city, there are other beaches like Ulas, Konakli, Fuzla, incekum and Mahmutlar. Alanya's beaches are several miles long. As well as these beaches, there are some natural beaches next to the motorway, under the slope of a hill or among some of the ancient ruins which awaits guests who prefer being just with nature and history.
The rules of the local administrations as well as the international ones are applied at the beaches in Alanya city centre. In accordance with these, entrance to the beaches and the showers are free.
Deck chairs and beach umbrellas are provided free in some cases; however it is not obligatory to seek these services, you can quite happily lay down a towel or mat of your own. At the buffets sites on the beaches there is no price difference at any of them and all are excellent value for money.
At the beaches no boats and water sports vehicles are allowed within a certain distance from the coast; swimming areas are determined with barriers to keep everyone safe and happy.
